I have received an e-mail from Rahakott, what should I do?

We never send out e-mails on our own initiative, so if you receive an e-mail supposedly from Rahakott, delete it (mark it as spam). Such emails are phishing.

What fee amount is charged for transfers and when are the funds credited to the account?

Fee amount, number of confirmations of the network required for crediting your account can be found on this page.

I have forgotten the mnemonic phrase. How can I recover it?

It is impossible to recover your mnemonic phrase. Any possibility of recovery affects the safety of your wallet or its anonymity, so it is extremely important to make backups of your phrase. Keep all backups encrypted, and also consider the possibility to print the mnemonic phrase and securely hide it.

I have forgotten my password. Is it possible to recover it?

Recovering the password is possible only in case the client can provide the help desk with the accurate information about:

  • last outgoing transaction, its amount, cryptocurrency and destination address
  • last incoming transaction, its amount, cryptocurrency and destination address
  • number and types of cryptocurrency wallets in the account
  • any other information requested by the help desk
I entered the wrong password a few times and the page 'Password guessing' appeared. Is my account locked?

We do not use long-term locking of accounts. After the message 'Password guessing' appears, you can go to the main page and type in your mnemonic phrase and an assumed password again. If the password is lost, contact the help desk to reset it.

What is the link "Payment request URL" used for?

You, as a payment recipient, can give a single link to all senders. After following the link, every sender will receive an individual address for making the payment. Senders will only have to transfer funds and inform you about the used address so that you can confirm receiving the payment. The senders themselves do not even need to create a wallet on Rahakott.

I am trying to send funds from the exchange to my Rahakott Bitcoin сash address, but there is a message that says that this type of addresses is not supported, what should I do in that case?

Currently, there are two types of Bitcoin Cash addresses in use: addresses in CashAddr format (they usually begin with the prefix 'bitcoincash' following the letter 'q') and legacy-addresses (begin with the digit '1'). Both addresses are displayed on the page "Deposit". The address in the CashAddr format is shown in black and the address in the legacy format - in gray. If the sender does not support the CashAddr format, you can always use a legacy address.

The recipient requires the transaction id after I sent the funds. Where can I find it?

The transaction identifier is displayed after hovering the mouse over the (i) sign near the recipient's address on the Deposit page - History block and also in the History section of the menu. To copy it completely, point at it with the mouse, double-click with the left mouse button to select and press Ctrl + C for copying, then switch to the desired application and press Ctrl + V to paste it. Note that the sign is only displayed for transactions passed through the blockchain. If the recipient requires the transaction id, do not forget to check "Do not use internal transfer" box, by this means, it is guaranteed that the transaction will be passed through the blockchain.

How can I verify that the wallet really sent the funds to the recipient?

There are numerous websites that allow you to verify sending by providing your transaction id. They show transaction details including the recipient and the amount (information about the transaction id can be found above).

All the services that are specified above are external and we cannot guarantee their constant availability and workability.

In the wallet settings I enabled "Renew address on incoming transaction", then I was sent money, my address was automatically updated and the sender transferred funds again to the old address. What will happen to this money?

When updating the address on the "Deposit" page, your previous address is moved to the address list on the "Addresses" page. All the addresses on this page are active and you can receive funds to any of them, therefore both payments will be credited to your balance.

What will happen if I create a temporary address and after its lifetime expires it will be credited?

Even after the expiration of the address, it continues to exist, although it does not appear in the list of your addresses. Nevertheless, the funds received to such an address will be credited to your balance and appear in your wallet.

I accidentally sent bitcoins to my bitcoin cash wallet, what should I do?

When sending, it is vitally important to check not only the amount but also the type of coins that you send. In case of an error, technical experts of the wallet can try to fix it. In case of such a situation, you need to contact the help desk of the wallet. The recovery of the mistakenly sent funds costs 1% of the amount but no less than $50 in the equivalent of the cryptocurrency that was deposited into the wallet. The process takes up to 14 working days. Note that if you sent coins of one kind from the Rahakott wallet, and the receiver's wallet (not Rahakott) accepts coins of a different kind, then you need to contact the help desk on the recipient side.

Also please note that if you mistakenly sent Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to a Bitcoin SegWit address (starting with '3'), your funds could not be recovered because the changes introduced by Segwit are not compatible with Bitcoin Cash and therefore it is impossible to access those BCH funds.

I transferred the funds to the address which was shown on a blockexplorer site as an input but the funds were not credited. What should I do?

Never send funds to the addresses that are shown on blockexplorers as inputs of your previous transactions. This may result in a loss of funds. If that happens by mistake, we can try to recover those funds. The recovery fee is $20. In order to prevent this situation, you can deposit your account only by using the addresses specified on the 'Addresses' or 'Deposit' page in Rahakott wallet.

I have enabled authentication with the one-time password that is displayed on the phone. How can I log into my account if something happens to my phone?

There is an alphanumeric code on the page for enabling a one-time password. It is shown under the QR-code and it should be written down and saved in case of a breakdown or loss of your phone. You can enter this code on a new device to receive one-time passwords for your account again. If you have already enabled the one-time password but have not written down the alphanumeric code, you can temporarily disable two-factor authentication, then go back to its activation page, write the new alphanumeric code, take a picture of the QR code and enable two-factor authentication again.

My one-time password stopped being valid, although everything worked fine before. How to fix it?

The generation of one-time passwords depends on the correct time of the mobile device. Sometimes you need to synchronize this time. For example, in Google Authenticator, you can do this by selecting 'Settings' - 'Time correction for codes' and clicking 'Sync now'.

What is mixing used for?

The mixing service is designed to anonymize transactions and significantly obfuscate their tracking. When you use mixing, the chain of receiving and sending addresses in the blockchain is broken and it becomes impossible to associate you as a sender and your transfer with the recipient. Even if a violator or the controlling authorities in any way found out that the address belongs to you, this transaction would look like someone else has done it. If you check the box "quick mixing" (similar to the mixing code for regular mixers) or use fully-featured mixer, you are guaranteed to receive cryptocurrency from the addresses that do not belong to your account. The 'quick mixing' feature is available when the wallet balance is at least 10 minimum network fees.

What is the difference between the quick mixing mode(checkbox 'quick mixing') and the fully-featured mixing (page 'Mixer') mode?

To mix funds, you can use either the quick mixing (using the checkbox 'quick mixing') mode or fully-featured mixing on the page 'Mixer'. Both modes use the same algorithm of obscuring your addresses but differ in features.

Use quick mixing when:

  • you send funds to only one address
  • you do not need to set the delay of sending
  • it is necessary that a particular amount, which is known beforehand, is sent to the recipient
  • a fixed fee of 1% is used

Use fully-featured mixing when:

  • you need to send funds to a few addresses
  • you would like to set distribution shares of the funds, as a percentage of the overall amount
  • you need to set a particular delay for each transfer
  • choose one of the options of fees for obscuring tracking the transfer (from 1% to 2.2%)

The fee for using full-featured mixer is always subtracted from shares to be sent. For quick mixing, you can either subtract the fee from the transferred amount or add it the amount to be sent.

The quick mixing mode with the marked checkbox 'subtract fees from amount' is analogous to fully-featured mixing with one destination address, 0 hours delay and 1% fee.
